SINCE 1909

Government's vernacular school of Damdeniya was established on the 3rd of may in 1909, at the preaching hall at Dambadeniya ancient temple, as a boy's school

The grils section was started attached to it on the 10th of january in 1915.

In 1942 Government's vernacular school of Dambadeniya, become a senior school.

on the 1st of june in 1961 government vernacular school of Dambadeniya became a comprehensive mixed school.

on the 19th june in 1994 this comprensive school was advanced as a central callege and registered under the no. of 17040 as a 1-C grade school.

Again on the 1st of june in 2001, this central college of Dambadeniya was upgraded as a "1-AB" school under the classification of school in Sri lanka.

In 2004 Central college of Dambadeniya, was named as NAVODDYA CENTRAL COLLEGE OF DAMBADENIYA, under the school of devolopement of schools by Division.

Now it has been proposed to devolop under the secondaralization project of government according to "Mahinda Chinthana" scheme.
